COMMUNITY NEURO-REHABILITATION TEAM BRIGHTON and HOVE
SENIOR OT (BAND 6)
1 Year Fixed Term or Secondment

A 1 year fixed term post has arisen within the Brighton and Hove Community Neuro-Rehabilitation Team to enable the early supported discharge home of people who have had a stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal injury, multiple sclerosis we are looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist who will support the provision of neuro-rehabilitation for people within Brighton and Hove area

The post holder will manage a varied and complex caseload providing skilled occupational therapy intervention for people requiring assessment and neuro-rehabilitation when they are experiencing impairments that impact upon high level functioning and activities. The post holder will focus their interventions on supporting people to increase their autonomy and independence within their homes; enhance their social participation and psychological well-being and facilitate the resumption of roles important to the person including education or employment. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to education for the person, their family and the wider support network and to act as a resource for CNRT.

Experience of working with people with neurological within community is essential and we need you to be an effective communicator who can work flexibly and proactively to deliver a prompt and clinically effective service. You should be a creative problem solver and demonstrate a willingness to develop and pilot new ideas.

We provide all of our staff with the opportunity to work in a Multidisciplinary Team that is continuing to develop to meet the needs of the people that we serve and provide innovative and effective ways of delivering intervention. We support all staff with professional supervision and regular development reviews and relevant training. The successful applicant will be supported to develop more specialist and advanced clinical and leadership skills.

We are seeking an OT who has some post graduate neuro rotations /experience, who is a dynamic MDT worker, able to use initiative and who would relish the challenge of being able to help provide an comprehensive and enabling service to the residents of Brighton and Hove.
