Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Estates Department provides a wide range of maintenance, operational and project management services throughout the Trust's community settings spread over a radius of more than 800 miles. The Estates department provides services to its own Trust and, via service level agreements (SLA's) to neighbouring Trusts and other local organisations.

We are looking for school leavers or young adults keen to become Engineering apprentices within the National Health Service (NHS) and be part of an organisation that is very forward looking and has been awarded "Good" and "Outstanding" in some clinical services category by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Two Engineering Apprentices are required for an Estates Department to follow the Electro medical Engineering (EME) and Mechanical/Electrical Apprenticeship programme over a 3/4 year period, successful completion will lead to a nationally recognised qualification with a national awarding body. The college course will commence in October or early January 2021.

Candidates will hold or expect to gain a minimum of 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at Grade C or above in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject. Following successful shortlisting, all candidates will be required to pass an entrance examination or a test specified by the service provider as part of the interview process.

Successful candidates will be paid an Apprentice salary as based on Agenda for Change Annex U, sub paragraph 2.iii or equivalent.
