The successful individual will become part of a small team working within a busy environment. The individual will be taking phone orders and accurately entering prescription contact lenses and similar product orders into a order entry system.

Working week: 37.5 to be discussed at interview. Total hours per week: 37.50

Apprenticeship level: Advanced Level 3 (A level)

The successful individual will become part of a small team working within a busy environment. The individual will be working under supervision taking phone orders and accurately entering prescription contact lenses and similar product orders into a order entry system. You will work closely with the sales and marketing department team and learn various aspects of office administration.

Overview of the day to day role:

  • Answering incoming calls; taking messages and re-directing calls as required
  • Dealing with email enquiries
  • Corresponding via email or letter
  • Data entry, orders, purchase orders, CRM updates, spreadsheets
  • General office management such as ordering stationery, packaging, and consumables
  • Supporting the planning & arranging of internal and external events
  • Possibly maintaining/helping develop company social media accounts
  • Providing administration support to Sales Reps, Marketing and Directors
  • Using IT systems to write emails, create proposals and produce spreadsheets
  • Maintaining records and files
  • Learn how to research for projects via internet
  • Social media & entry level digital marketing (I.e. helping produce eblasts)
  • Answer general phone enquiries
  • Basic invoicing and reporting procedures
  • How to build positive working relationships
  • Communications skills
  • Resource planning
  • Project management techniques
