FINANCE MANAGER 12 months fixed term - maternity cover

Secondments welcomed – from January 2021

SALARY: NJC GRADE 8/9 points 20-28

£23,935 - £29,854 pa £25,991 - £32,234 pa (pro rata £22,992 - £28,514

HOURS: Full-time – term time only plus 2 weeks to be worked in school holidays

37 hours per week - from January 2021

We are seeking an outstanding individual to cover for our Finance Manager who starts maternity leave in February.

The postholder be qualified to AAT Level 3. They will play a key role in assisting the Business Development Manager to deliver an outstanding financial service to the Trust. They will prepare financial reports, including assisting with the year-end accounting process and annual budget setting. They will maintain the Trust’s financial processes and systems including control of non-restrictive income and expenditure (School Fund).

The successful candidate will have:

  • up-to-date knowledge and experience of managing ESFA/Academy funding in schools
  • confidence in dealing with charity accounting requirements and reporting arrangements
  • a confident personality with a can-do approach
  • good oral and written communication skills with all stakeholders
  • strong problem solving skills
  • an ability to respond to challenging circumstances in a positive manner
  • a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and  Outlook - supported by achievement of ECDL or similar
  • experience of managing a procurement process
  • experience of managing and motivating an effective team.
  • and ideally a knowledge of SIMS, FMS, SIMS Finance and Wisepay
