Job Details
The role is to assist a Cabinet Maker in their construction of furniture and cabinetry in any way that aids the cabinet maker to work more efficiently and complete a better standard of finish and quality in the job. This will include, but is not limited to: edging, sanding & fitting.
Weekly wage £166.00
Working week Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour lunch break.
Total hours per week: 40.00
Expected duration : 24 months
Possible start date : 05 Jan 2021
Apprenticeship level: Intermediate Level 2 (GCSE)
Apprenticeship summary:
We are searching for a candidate that can envisage a future in the carpentry industry. We are a family run business, who’s staff selection is fundamental to the growth of our business. We pride ourselves on our expert team, appointed to deliver the highest standard of cabinetry to our clients. We are seeking an apprentice that wants to invest in their future, to become part of the Joseph John family and learn the fundamental skills involved in cabinet making. We specialise in cleverly designed, high end furniture and cabinetry; so attention to detail is a must from any potential candidate.
The ideal candidate for this role will also have patience, a willingness to learn to new skills and practice them regularly. To be a team player and enthusiastic about joining a specialist team. Your day to day role will involve working in the workshop, alongside Joe our Director and Lee our Carpenter.
You will assist in the end to end process in the production of furniture, with key elements being to assist in the finishing of our products to the highest of standards.
This will involve laborious work, such us;
- Sanding
- Edging
- Construction/fitting
The ideal candidate will also be comfortable assisting in the manual handling of heavy furniture. We are looking to nurture a new learner into their new career path and look forward to hearing from you soon.
