We are looking for a qualified Nursery Nurse, Level 3 or above, to work within our team at Butterfly Nursery.

The role will involve working in a team to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework to the highest standards, working in partnership with parents, and safeguarding our children at all times.

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust manages three Ofsted-inspected nurseries in Brighton, Hove and Crawley. We pride ourselves in offering first class, quality childcare for children aged 0-5 years.

All three sites are workplace nurseries, primarily for parents/carers who are employed by the NHS, but we have community places available for children from the local area too, whose parents/carers do not work for our NHS Trusts.

We work in partnership with our NHS Trusts to improve their recruitment and retention, and their staff's work/life balance, helping parents and carers to return to work.

We make sure we select the right people to work with the children in our nurseries, as good quality team members are a genuine asset. We use a values-based recruitment technique as it focuses on candidates' behaviours and values in relation to working with children.

Every member of our team has a full and relevant qualification at a minimum of Level 3 in Childcare. All staff complete additional training in the following as well as child-based training:
  • Paediatric first aid
  • Safeguarding Children (level 3)
  • Health and safety
  • Fire safety
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Food and hygiene

We also have a clear written induction programme for all new staff, students, and volunteers.
