We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our Payments Team as a Payment Assistant Apprentice studying the Finance Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship

You will work in the busy Accounts Payable team, which is part of the Business Operations service, working collaboratively in the ORBIS partnership with East Sussex and Surrey County Councils.

About the role

This role offers a variety of responsibilities and is a good insight in to finance transactional services whilst offering the opportunity to undertake a well-recognised accounting apprenticeship.

The Finance Assistant level 2 apprenticeship is run by East Sussex College Group who are responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course has number of modules to complete and your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.  College workshops commence from the 17th May and face-to-face delivery is offered from the Newhaven Campus as and when it is appropriate to do so.

Apprentices will study the Finance Assistant Level 2 apprenticeship standard and learn to provide high quality and customer focussed support to services. Also learning to effectively respond to high volume queries and ensuring accurate and timely payments. 

Apprentices without evidence of level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to completing training and you will be required to take an English and Maths assessment prior to a formal offer being made.

As an Apprentice you are also eligible to gain an apprentice NUS card and can take advantage of the Catch the bus4work scheme.

Deadline for applications: Sunday 31st January 2021

Interviews: Week commencing 8th February; if successful then a further interview with course provider will be required along with English & Maths assessments. 

Provisional Start Date: 1st March 2021 (Flexible)  

Please note, your application will be shared with the training provider who will have the final say on eligibility.

The duration of the apprenticeship will be up to 16 months
