We’re looking for a self-motivated manager, who’s passionate about data, to join our Counter Fraud Services team as a Fraud Analytics Manager in Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester.

You’ll be responsible for delivering strategic improvements to fraud models, systems and procedures, while managing a team of expert fraud analysts investigating fraud trends.

You’ll work closely with the Underwriting and Commercial teams, developing strong internal relationships with some fantastic internal stakeholders to allow effective strategy delivery.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience in leadership of excellence to enable high performance working throughout the function, whilst recommending strategies to drive the business forward.

Job responsibilities

  • Using excellent data and analytics skills, you’ll be processing structured data through databases and analysing the results
  • Drive key strategic and technical insights to report back to senior stakeholders
  • Maintain awareness of key technologies and processes required to offer complete project delivery
  • Translate between technical and non-technical personnel
  • Use your problem-solving ability to develop tailored solutions that combat a range of fraud and financial crime issues
  • Work closely with the Data Science team in defining and modelling business problems and solutions
  • Help to develop data services that include deep learning, predictive analytics and machine learning
  • Perform data analysis and data collection processes that effectively support these data services
  • Work individually and with team members, other teams and suppliers to deliver data services
  • Comply with all Group Information Security policies

Experience

  • Good experience and understanding of application, claims and internal fraud
  • Intermediate/advanced level in SQL
  • Scripting expertise in another programming language such as R, Python, Scala
  • Experience with visualisation tools such as Tableau
  • Proven experience of using analytics to deliver tangible insights
  • Experience managing the delivery of projects
  • Knowledge of data structures and schemas, data preparation and cleansing
  • Experience of machine learning techniques and libraries
  • Good knowledge of data query languages, such SQL, HiveQL, scripting
  • Analytical and problem-solving aptitude

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven analytical and statistical modelling skills

Knowledge

  • Understanding of a service-based approach to professional services
  • Specialist qualifications/training relevant to the responsibilities listed above
