Calling all registered Occupational Therapists looking to join a forward-thinking team - you could be an essential part of one of our fast-paced Responsive Services teams in Sussex!

In Responsive Services, we work hard to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and also support patients through the critical first few days after they leave hospital.

We have a variety of roles available for registered staff across Sussex, including Horsham, Crawley and Haywards Heath.

Our Responsive Services are made up of multidisciplinary teams providing a seven day service.

We deliver:
  • A rapid response to people in the community who are experiencing acute episodes of ill-health
  • A supported discharge service to facilitate timely hospital discharges
  • Short term support for people who require assistance with activities of daily living
  • A rehabilitation service including a range of therapies

We have recently received the green light to expand our current urgent care work and are looking for a wide variety of people to join us, including Band 6 Occupational Therapists. There are full time and part time posts available, which allows the post holders to have greater flexibility in working hours.

The post holders will need to have experience of working within a variety of clinical settings, ideally with the community. Car drivers/owners are essential due to the geographic area covered by the team.

The team works closely with other community teams, GPs, other health and social care professionals across different providers. We are also increasingly working collaboratively with voluntary and third sector organisations, and carer support services.

As a member of the team you will have the opportunity to:
  • Receive support from other therapy colleagues
  • Receive clinical supervision
  • Participate in the in-service learning programme
  • Attend the annual SCFT Leadership Conference
  • Develop specialist areas of practice, relevant to the team
  • Participate and assist in the implementation of the Calderdale Framework
  • Supervise and support development of other staff outside of your professional group
  • Develop leadership skills through formal and supported training
  • Develop skills beyond the usual scope of practice of your profession
  • Assist in shaping future clinical practice of the therapy team
