Vacancy description
The start date can be discussed with the successful apprentice.
The role will include the preparation of:
- Sole trader, partnership and Ltd company accounts
- Corporation tax returns
- VAT returns
- Management accounts
- Bookkeeping.
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Have knowledge of Excel and the ability to quickly learn new software
- Have excellent communication skills.
Personal qualities
Be an organised, proactive and hardworking individual.
Desired qualifications
- GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths desired. A Level if completed in relevant subjects also desired.
- To begin on Level 3 it is an essential requirement to have a Level 2 AAT Diploma.
Future prospects
Future opportunities after completion of Levels 2, 3 and 4 of AAT can include further studies to ACA or ACCA.
Things to consider
- You will be required to attend East Sussex College, at the Eastbourne Campus, one day per week as part of the day release programme. This will be term time only.
- The employer is happy to accept applications for both those looking to pursue Level 2 AAT and Level 3 AAT. To begin on the Level 3 Apprenticeship you must have already completed a Level 2 AAT Diploma.

Training provider: EAST SUSSEX COLLEGE GROUP
Training to be provided
- Apprenticeship Certificate (Pass or Distinction)
- Level 3 AAT Diploma in Accounting
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths(equivalent to GCSE grade A-C or 9-4) unless exempt.
If you have not completed AAT Level 2, then you would need to start at this level before progressing onto Level 3.
