Description  This is a 12 month fixed term contract

The purpose of the Engineering Change Coordinator role is to drive engineering change performance on the Linac Business Line.

The tasks include:

  • Maintain and publish Engineering Change Order (ECO) release schedule and the backlog of Engineering Change Requests (ECR).
  • Ensure all open ECO’s are progressing through the release process according to the plan and within target KPI’s by coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve them & following up on actions with teams within Elekta and within the supply chain. Resolve or escalate issues that may impact achieving the plan.
  • Regularly report against the defined KPIs (such as ECO lead time, number of ECOs released)
  • Support with development of the engineering change process to increase throughput, including understanding process flow, identifying opportunities, suggesting improved ways of working, updating work instructions, developing new process management tools and KPI’s

The Engineering Change Coordinator role is in the New Product Introduction and Engineering Change function in the Procurement organisation. The role supports the Linac business line, primarily covering engineering changes by Crawley and Beijing.

  Responsibilities Gather accurate process performance data and regularly report KPI’s.

Escalate issues and risks that may impact achieving agreed targets.

Drive (cross-functional) process improvement to increase the engineering change throughput.

Prioritise workload according to business needs.

Actively attend various engineering change meetings.

Communicate with suppliers to clarify engineering change requirements and escalate issues to relevant teams.

Support admin tasks such as data entry and supplier RFQs as and when required.

Pick up additional scope of work as and when required.

  Authorities Set up, measure, drive and report Engineering Change KPIs.

Set priorities on tasks and actions to facilitate achieving the agreed release plan.

Communicate with suppliers regarding engineering changes.

Be the point of contact for engineering change related issues and coordinate problem solving with various teams and individuals.

  Relevant Knowledge, skills and competencies Excellent organisation skills and able to prioritise. Flexible and Reliable.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal communication and positive influencing skills. Capable of working on their own initiative whilst also being an effective team player.

Experience of navigating around multiple computer systems and databases. MS office experience mandatory, M3 and Enovia preferred.

Fluent in English. Other languages advantageous.

Well organized, quick learner, motivated self-starter.

Must be able to multitask and work with limited supervision.

Demonstrable record of delivering stretching targets and successfully managing concurrent tasks.

Able to work in a dual reporting matrix environment.
