Job Details
Engineering dental equipment covers electrical, mechanical and pneumatic parts. Dental engineers have a role in assembling, installing, maintaining, modifying, repairing & servicing the equipment. Parts can get damaged & wear-out over time and faulty equipment can pose a danger. Certification & testing for pressure vessels and x-rays.
Apprenticeship summary
Most of the equipment and machinery within a dental practice is designed and built with precision to obtain the maximum ease of use and durability. They are a considerable financial outlay and an investment to the practice, so ensuring that they are functioning to expected standards are paramount.
The engineering of dental equipment covers electrical, mechanical and pneumatic parts and dental engineers have a significant role in:
- Assembling
- Installing
- Maintaining
- Modifying
- Repairing and servicing the equipment
Some of the parts may get damaged or wear-out over time and faulty equipment can pose a danger to patients and the professional.
There are several key areas that need servicing from Dental Chairs, Suction equipment, air compression, autoclave, washer disinfectant & x-ray’s
You will follow a service plan that identifies faults and areas of concern, working with an established engineer you will learn everything from the physical side of engineering to the essential paperwork that accompanies this to comply with CQC (compliance & certification)
We are looking for someone to join the team on a long-term basis.

Things to consider
Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Weekly wage - £172.00 - £360.00
Working week Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 5:30 pm with 30-minute lunch break. There will be one working day on day release at the college
Total hours per week: 40.00
Expected duration - 42 months Possible start date - 17 May 2021 Apprenticeship level - Advanced Level 3 (A level)
