This is an exciting and rewarding role, ideal for a person who is interested and experienced in providing information, advice and guidance and in seeking to deliver excellent customer service.

On each of our campuses, the Student Information Desk is the University’s front-line customer-focused service that enables students to easily access a range of specialist support services. Aiming to ensure that students only have to tell their story once and that a wide range of enquiries are owned and managed through to conclusion.

As one of two Student Information Desk Managers, you will utilise your highly developed inter-personal skills and your comprehensive experience of managing a team, to provide direct operational management to several of the Student Information Desk team, as well as ensuring the whole team focus on delivering great customer service and the provision of high-quality information, advice and guidance.

The University is a large, exciting and diverse place to study and work. You’ll be a proactive professional, experienced in working with a range of key stakeholders and applying your skills will ensure that you make the most of this role, actively seeking to deliver an exceptional front-line information desk service. In order to be successful in this post, you should have:

•             Knowledge of the student lifecycle and support services in higher education.

•             Ability to plan and prioritise a range of work activities, delegating tasks appropriately and meeting conflicting deadlines when they occur.

•             Experience of working successfully within a customer service excellence framework or environment.

•             Experience of recruiting, managing and motivating staff, with highly developed inter-personal skills to influence positive behaviour in others.

You will be expected to work across all University campuses, with specific line management responsibility at Eastbourne.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships 

This is a grant-funded scheme which enables companies to access resources and expertise they need to innovate, grow and improve their performance.

KTP enables a highly skilled graduate, known as an Associate, to be employed by the university to work full-time in your company leading a strategic project, with the support of an academic team with expertise relating to the project.  

Projects last between 6 months and 3 years; up to 67% of the project costs are provided by the Technology Strategy Board or another government sponsor.
