Vacancy description

Some of the key tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Motivating your team and providing the best customer service possible to customers
  • Understanding standard business operating procedures
  • Learning to work in all the different business areas from in the kitchen, to selling to farm shops, to packaging postal orders and gaining new business. We are a hands on business and everyone gets involved in all the different aspects
  • Making deliveries to local farm shops and the high street
  • Updating the website and social media pages and be involved in marketing and sales activities
  • Understanding the product and the brand, in order to promote the business effectively
  • Use different communication methods to suit different team members
  • Understanding financial information and how it impacts the business
  • Coordinate a small team, effectively
  • Working towards business targets set by the owners
  • Baking brownies, blondies, biscuits, artisan toasts etc
  • Making truffles
  • Washing up and clearing up the kitchen spaces
  • Gluten free baking.
  • Baking goods for special events such as Father’s Day.
  • Dealing with orders.
  • Training new members of staff once training has been provided to yourself.

The employer will be interviewing throughout the recruitment period so the apprenticeship could start before the closing date.

Desired qualifications

There are no essential qualifications for the role however the successful candidate will be required to undertake an initial assessment in maths and English to check that they are at a high enough level to complete the apprenticeship.

Any hospitality-based qualifications or relevant experience are desirable but not essential, as well as previous supervising experience.

Future prospects

There is every possibility that the successful candidate will remain (should they wish to) with Belle & Wilde and continue to grow within the company. There are plenty of opportunities within the company to grow and undertake further qualifications.

Things to consider

Due to the rural location you will need access to your own transport.

We are located in the stunning location of Sheffield Park Farm.

The company is growing rapidly and we are looking for employees that want to stay with the company longer term.

Training

Training provider: EAST SUSSEX COLLEGE GROUP

Training to be provided

  • Level 3 Hospitality Supervisor
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English, unless exempt.

This apprenticeship will be completely based in the workplace. Instead of coming to college you will have a dedicated assessor that will visit you every 4-6 weeks in the workplace. 20% of your contracted working hours will be spent on training. Functional Skills exams will be at one of the college campuses if you need to do them.

Apprenticeship standard: Hospitality supervisor.
