Vacancy description

The successful applicant will learn a wide range of the skills required in site carpentry and be involved in a variety of first and second fix tasks including:

• Fitting floor joists
• Fitting flooring to floor joists
• Constructing roofs
• Fitting internal doors
• Fitting skirting and architrave
• Fitting kitchens
• Assisting the carpenter with site preparation and clearance and maintaining general site tidiness
• Assisting with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading and checking deliveries and undertaking general tasks to assist the carpenter

On all jobs you will need to keep your equipment clean and tidy and tidy up after the job is finished

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided (you must provide your own boots).  Initially the necessary tools will also be provided, however, long term you will need to provide your own.

Full training will be given.

East Sussex College are the Training Provider for this apprenticeship.

• The job could include some travelling and early starts e.g. London (you will be given a lift), some weekend working and staying away
