Apprenticeship summary

  • Weekly wage: £280.00 - £360.00
  • Working week: Monday to Friday, 08.00 till 16.00.
  • Total hours per week: 40.00
  • Expected duration: 24 months
  • Possible start date: 05 Jul 2021
  • Apprenticeship level: Intermediate Level 2 (GCSE)
  • Positions: 2 available

Due to machinery and insurance purpose candidates must be 18 years or over. 

Day to day Tasks will vary dependant on works going through the workshop and off-site projects/contracts. 

The apprentice will work alongside an engineer and the work could be as per typical examples below (but not exclusive).

Carrying out a service or rebuild of a large ground power unit that feeds supply to a aircraft in the workshop or on site carrying out a service visit.

Carry out maintenance /repair/ Install visit on automatic doors /gates/ shutters/ boarding gates / barriers at locations such as Gatwick Airport/ London City Airport/ Warner Brothers/ Private clients etc.

Carry out electrical installs of electric vehicle charging points.

Manufacture of Covid 19 screens.

Electronic board testing and repair.

Work on inhouse research and development projects.

Work on various electric vehicles.

Specialist training will be given in addition to foundation training given through college. Also, they will be sponsored to gain additional professional accreditations required for the work.

  • Keen to learn new systems
  • Ability to interact with clients
  • A track record of past engineering hobbies and projects

Desired qualifications

  • Good GCSE results (A*-C/9-4 or equivalent) are desirable or demonstrable practical experience.

Future prospects

  • Full time employment within the company

Things to consider

The weekly wage will vary depending on age and experience.  

Due to location of office site own transport is desirable. Transport from office to off-site locations will be provided.

Due to security/ insurance requirements at some sites apprentice should be minimum age of 18 and have no criminal convictions or pending.
