You will initially be working full time (5 days per week until October 2021), with the role then becoming part time – 14.75 hours per week, office based.


In a nutshell

Responsible for the effective roster maintenance of available crew resources on the published roster to ensure maximum efficiency whilst meeting operational requirements. Ensuring Company, union and regulatory requirements are adhered to. Identifying, rectifying or escalating any operational risk within the published roster

To ensure that maximum training efficiency and effective resource utilisation is achieved when re-planning training for both pilots and cabin crew in accordance with VAA / Regulatory requirements, minimising any further disruption to the training and flying programme.
Responsible for the maintenance and delivery of swapping lifestyle initiatives to Cabin Crew and Pilots

Day to day

Maintenance of rosters
- Responsible for effective utilisation of crew resources to ensure correct crew compliment and maximum efficiency on the roster
- Building/amending trips following SIBS, A/C changes and the addition of ad-hoc maintenance/ferry and charter flights
- Crewing up Open-Time positions from standby and reserve
- Advance notification of Flight and Cabin Crew duty changes where applicable
- Identification and escalation of operational risk on the roster
- Correct calculation of crew hours and flight duty periods when required
- Effective handover to Crewing highlighting any operational risks
- Completion of daily/weekly/ monthly tasks
- Support as required swapping and open time swapping functionality as well as pilot swap requests

Training
- Maintaining the integrity of the Pilot and Cabin Crew training plan, minimising disruption to the ground and flying programme, effective re-planning any training requirements where required
- Tracking of training disruption / rescheduling and providing data to Flight Operations Training and Standards team and Cabin Crew Training departments on causes of disruption and measures for resolution taken
- Ensure that all training LOI’s are up to date with latest training and company requirements and any changes communicated to the team and relevant parties notified
- Investigating and responding to Cabin crew and Pilot queries on Training issues and taking appropriate action

Policies, procedures, and objectives
- Make recommendations to ensure processes and procedures are fit for purpose and seek to drive and improve operational efficiencies
- Up to date with all team notices, relevant regulations and requirements required to complete the role effectively
- Ensure compliance with departmental LOI’s
- To be fully conversant in the crew management system. Seeking to recommend improved efficiencies in system or its use
- Supporting the Crewing and Pre-Ops Manager in the effective training of any new personnel to Crewing and Pre-Ops
- As is reasonably required by the Manager Crewing and Pre Ops, Duty Manager Pre Ops and Duty Manager Crewing, undertake additional tasks and activities that further enhance and support the output of the department


Customer Service
- Supporting the Duty Manager Pre-Ops and Duty Manager Crewing in ensuring departmental reputation is maintained by adherence to processes, procedures and roster change requirements.
- Effective and timely communication within the team, Cabin Crew and Pilots and key areas of the business
- Respond and act on feedback to drive and improve operational efficiencies
- Proactive resolution of customer queries and feedback
- Maintain effective relationships with key functional interface

About you

Are you an experienced Crew Planner in the Aviation industry or perhaps a tech-savvy member of crew seeking something a bit different? If so, we think this would be the ideal role for you. In order to perform effectively in this role (and enjoy it), we would require you to have the following skills and experience:

Experience

- Good understanding of EASA FTL required
- Good understanding of Pilot training requirements/ subject matter expert on regulatory training preferred
- Working knowledge of Crew Planning systems
- Word/Excel and Email literate
- FRM experience
