Vacancy description

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspect of Front of House including:

• Preparing the café for service and shut down after service
• Meeting, greeting and serving customers with food and drink
• Building relationships with customers
• Taking food and drink orders
• Taking payments from customers
• Adhering to COVID and sanitation procedures as well as the high standards of hygiene required, including completion of the associated paperwork

 As the role progresses you will be responsible for running / supervising the Front Of House Operation.  This will include rotas, stock checks and assisting the owners / managers in all aspects of running and managing the business. There may be a possibility in the future to open in the evenings with an alcohol licence and bar.

East Sussex College are the Training Provider for this Apprenticeship

Desired skills

• Ideally you will have some experience of working within a Food Service / Hospitality environment (whether through college or outside)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Good time keeper

Personal qualities

• Good attitude towards work
• Reliable
• Willingness to learn and the ability to use your initiative are more important than academics.  As you will be working in a small team, it is important that the candidate contributes to the smooth running of the operation.

Desired qualifications

GCSE English & maths grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent qualifications) desirable
