Apprenticeship in Hairdressing 

An opportunity has arisen at Shine to gain excellent salon training by a team of experienced and talented hairdressers. The successful candidate will receive all aspects of training to become a fantastic hairdresser.

Weekly wage - £129.00

Working week Working days and hours to be confirmed but will be working between 09:30 am to 6:30 pm with 1-hour lunch break. There will be one working day on day release at college. Shifts TBC.

Total hours per week: 30.00

Expected duration - 24 months

Possible start date - 08 Aug 2021

Shine is Brighton’s Aveda salon. We are an environmentally conscious salon that prides ourselves on brilliant work and excellent customer care.

As an apprentice at Shine you will be offered excellent salon training in the salon as you will be
working with very experienced and talented hairdressers.

On a day to day basis you will be required to support and assist the hairdressers in making the experience the client receives the very best it can be. 

Duties include:

  • Meet and greet clients
  • Shampoo hair
  • Serve refreshments

Desired qualifications

  • GCSE in English and maths (Grades 9-4(A*-C)) or equivalent desired.  Alternatively, successful applicants will be undertaking functional skills in mathematics and English as part of the apprenticeship with Greater Brighton Metropolitan College

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) was created from the merger of City College Brighton and Northbrook College Sussex. It is the college for our City and our region and draws on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.
