Street Ranger: SWL Security

40hr / week Manor Royal Business Ranger

SWL Security services are looking for an additional full time Business Ranger to join the team to support a multitude of retail, commercial and industrial sites in the Manor Royal (Crawley) area on a 40hrs a week contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent the Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID) in supporting the businesses, employees and visitors to the Manor Royal Business Park. Working for a SIA Approved Contractor, the role is varied requiring a mix of skills and experience.

You will be required to work in partnership with the businesses, the Council, and the Police to help deter crime, deal with low level anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to the Manor Royal business community. In addition, you will have a key role in making sure Manor Royal looks great by identifying issues that make the place look bad and reporting them to the Manor Royal BID maintenance team for action.

Job Type: 40 hours per week

Salary: £10.44 to £10.95 after a qualifying period and dependent on experience

KEY TASKS:

· Provide a visible, pro-active and reassuring presence in Manor Royal.

· Engaging with Manor Royal businesses to communicate the work of the BID and provide advice and guidance as necessary about crime or other issues.

· Visiting businesses on a regular basis and maintain regular contact to offer reassurance and impart information.

· Help to build a link between the Manor Royal BID and the businesses.

· Report public realm issues (e.g. broken street furniture, signs, litter etc) to help keep the place looking tidy and cared for.

· Identify, investigate, deter and report on crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

· Take part in coordinated operations to specifically patrol problem areas;

· Ensure appropriate information sharing with the right teams within key partners and agencies, including outreach services, local Police, Local Authorities, crime reduction agencies etc;

· Reporting on to Disc and Manor Royal BID information KPIs

· Be a friendly face to locals and business owners

Licence types required for role:

• SIA Licence Security Guarding
• SIA Licence Door Supervisor
• SIA Licence Close Protection
• Full Driving Licence

Other Requirement’s:

• Five Year checkable employment / education history for vetting purposes.
• Good customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience in working in a similar role is desirable.
• Previous law enforcement experience is advantageous.
• Prepared to work varied shifts
• Confident working alone and as part of a small team
• A proactive, enquiring mind and positive attitude
• No more than 6 points on your driver’s licence
