About this Role:

Ambitious/experienced Senior Design Engineer required by this specialist design consultancy, developer and contractor to be responsible for the production of technical information including 2D, 3D and 4D and also the coordination of model information on live projects.

Reporting to the Head of Design, you will be responsible for:

Bid Stage
*To attend bid meeting to allow a full understanding of the bid scope and current status.
*To actively work with the other team members
*Highlight any discrepancies, conflicts, omissions, etc. and suggest solutions to the Bid Team.
Delivery Stage
*Co-ordinate a regular Project Team review of the design information to the Design Manager.
*BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows.
*Technical management of project BIM data sets within BIM360.
*Technically deliver BIM Level 2 projects, produce working drawings and act as QBT in house BIM coordinator.
*Work with engineers and other technicians to produce efficient, practical, innovative and coordinated structural designs.
*Produce and maintain CAD drawings for all structural materials
*Help develop and improve Revit template, bespoke families, details to deliver improved efficiency and quality on future projects.
*Undertake multi-discipline design & coordination activities with other members of the project team.
*Help develop, agree and maintain a logical, consistent and helpful layer structure in all CAD drawings.
*Produce accurate high quality physical scaled models, when requested by the engineer.
*Provide technical support for BIM software applications to the project team.
*Develop, maintain and update the BEP (BIM Execution Plan) as a response to the client's EIRs
*Work with the Design Manager to develop data-rich 2D and 3D information suitable for handover
*Maintain high level of competency of BIM software through continued use and regular training
Technical and Commercial
*Ensure Subcontractors details and drawings are co-ordinated into the work in progress model.
*Liaise with the Design Manager over co-ordination matters
General Duties
*To actively work with the Project Delivery Team reporting to the Head of Design.

This is a specialist design, developer and contractor based in West Sussex focussing on modular and prefabricated building solutions for student accommodation and residential projects.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
Ideally from a Structural Design Engineering background, you will possess excellent technical knowledge, a keen understanding of construction methodology, materials and systems, and be an accomplished user of BIM software, specifically REVIT
You will be a good communicator, able to work as part of a team, and with an eye for detail.
