Home Automation Systems Installer & Programmer
POWERPLANT home automation ltd are a premium installer of home automation systems (audio, video, lighting, shading, CCTV and control) for residential properties. We are based in Portslade, Brighton and we work mainly in Sussex, Surrey, Kent, Central and South London.
We are looking for a full time Systems Installer, to join our friendly team. This position would either suit a junior person willing to learn or a more experienced person with some knowledge of our industry.
This is a very hands-on role installing and programming high quality equipment in our customers homes. If you have a passion for technology, have a good understanding of IT, and are looking to broaden your technical knowledge of Home Automation installations then this role will suit you
We will provide full training, both manufacturer and in house, for all of the equipment and systems that we install.
The Role
- Installation of Home Automation systems to the highest standards
2nd fix install of equipment and configuration
Programming and commissioning
Work collaboratively with other members of the install team to achieve deadlines together and of consistent quality.
Interpret and follow technical and construction drawings
Carrying out service visits (planned and reactive) to fault-find and undertake repairs·
Work cooperatively with POWERPLANT team members and with other trades on site(s) and be adaptable.
Comply with the company’s Health and Safety policy

Proactive, resourceful, and able to use own initiative to solve problems
Live within 20miles of BN41 or willing to relocate
Skills & Experience
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
Full Clean Driving licence
Good IT knowledge or willingness to learn
Good cable terminations skills, e.g.crimping of Cat5/6/6A (desirable but not essential)
Knowledge of industry standard audio, video and lighting systems (desirable but not essential)
Hours:
- Full time Monday to Friday.
Note: Typically, 10-15 working days per month are spent on-site where usual working hours are 6am-6pm including travel
Local installation hours are 8.30 - 5.00pm in-line with our normal office hours.
Occasionally work is required outside of these hours
Holiday:
- 28 days (including Bank Holidays)
