We are seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant (PA to Dean of School) to join our team on a fixed term basis in the newly created School of School of Sport and Health Sciences, as a member of the school office team providing a range of support.

You will be joining a friendly, professional team in a school which is at the forefront of teaching, research and consultancy in a range of sport and healthcare disciplines, based on either our Falmer or Eastbourne campus. Your role will be to provide PA support to the Dean of school, senior school managers, and support the administration of the School on a fixed-term basis until the end of December 2021 pending a wider university restructure.

As part of the administrative team, you will support colleagues in general administration in a number of areas. In this varied and interesting role, you will regularly arrange and minute school meetings and committees as well as be responsible for a number of staff members’ diaries, assist with the ongoing school office activities, including assisting with examination arrangements, and provide cover for the School reception desk.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working as part of a team with excellent organisational and administrative skills to support the Senior Leadership Team with a range of school wide activities. In addition to which you should have:

•            Excellent communication skills as this role has regular contact with senior staff members, students and the public

•            Experience of diary management and minute taking, along with the ability to produce grammatically correct written work and a high level of numerical accuracy

•            Experience in a PA or similar role, including tasks such as: booking travel, making hospitality arrangements, committee servicing, writing minutes, preparing agendas, reports, and correspondence

•            Strong skills in the use of all Microsoft Office packages
