Sat in the heart of Brighton, the Western is a stop shop covering all of your needs – great beer, deliciously dirty vegan junk food and as things start to go back to normal – ents & events right through to the early hours.

We’re looking for a Management Partner who’s looking for a small but busy venue with previous experience in working with DJ’s and Live Music.

About Laine

Chances are, if you love great pubs, then you’ve probably been to a Laine one. (ok, maybe not, considering what’s been going on for the last 12 months!) But that aside, we’re lucky enough torun 60 exciting venues around Brighton, London and Birmingham that are all different. That’s right, no Laine pub is the same.

We believe every pub needs the basics – great beer, great food, and great service – which is why we brew our own, work with talented head chefs/franchises and look after our teams. However, sometimes you just want a little bit more, which is why we work with our managers to think outside the box and stay one step ahead of the game. If you’re looking for circus shows, comedy, arcades, axe-throwing (yes, really!) – we’ve got it. We encourage creativity.

Why pubs?

Pubs are places that people connect, have fun and unwind. In the last year they’ve become somewhere for people to work, to feel safe and reconnect with some kind of normality. The last year has only highlighted how important the hospitality industry is to so many people, and we want to be there to offer more than just a place to buy a pint, as we have been since 1996.

Where do you come in?

We believe behind any great pub is an amazing bunch of people making it happen and that YOU are the most important ingredient to success. Running a pub is not just a job, but a lifestyle. You are the face, life and soul of the business which is hard work but incredibly rewarding. We’re looking for passionate managers who are interested in putting their own stamp and personality on a site, who can lead, develop, and motivate a team to help them along the way!

Motivation comes with reward, which is why we operate in a slightly different way to usual, our Management Partners receive a % of sales, meaning you will directly benefit from your own successes.

As Management Partner you are responsible for:

-Running the day to day of the business and driving sales

-Marketing your business and all social media

-Managing stock and controlling wet & dry GP’s

-Recruiting, training and developing your team to achieve their personal best

-Running your own books and payroll

What are we looking for?

If you want to be given a step by step guide to running a pub, Laine probably isn’t right for you. We’re looking for people who are craving a bit more freedom to let their personality shine, try something they’ve always dreamt of and be proud of their business!

Other than a love of the hospitality industry, you must:

·Have leadership and management experience

·A proven track record of driving and growing sales within a business

·Be entrepreneurial and business savvy

·Thrive under pressure – hospitality is a fast paced ever changing industry

·Have great delegation skills – running a pub is hard and you can’t do everything yourself!

·Be confident in training and developing a team to help you achieve your goals

·Have knowledge of health & safety, licensing and employment laws

·Be able to work in a partnership – embracing the freedom, but also listening to advice & feedback

As mentioned, you’ll run your own business within the Laine Pub Co, meaning you directly benefit from your own success. We offer a 12-week induction programme to get you ready, but don’t worry, the support doesn’t stop there, we’re here to help you every step of the way.
