Job Details
We are looking for a level 2/3 apprentice (depending on experience) to work alongside a team of children aged between 3 months and 5 years.
The successful candidate will be supporting staff in the room in the caring of the children. They will also be working with a team to plan activities for the children and implement the EYFS on a daily basis. They will also be asked to observe the children as part of the day-to-day practice providing high quality care for the children.
The qualification covers a range of topics:
- Child development
- Professional development
- Safeguarding babies and young children in early years settings
- Diversity, equality and inclusion
- Positive behaviour and transitions
- Working in partnership, with parents, colleagues and other professionals in early years settings
- Promoting children’s speech, language and communication
- Supporting children’s activities, purposeful play and educational programmes
- Supporting health and safety in early years settings
- Exploring roles and development opportunities in early years settings
- Understand how to support children with special educational needs and/or disabilities

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) was created from the merger of City College Brighton and Northbrook College Sussex. It is the college for our City and our region and draws on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.
