The role of Lead Nurse for Infection Prevention and Control is crucial in delivering safe, high quality care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an experienced IPC nurse specialist to join our team. You must be able to provide compassionate, visible clinical leadership. With the Deputy DIPC, lead the direction on all aspects of IPC to ensure this is embedded across the organisation. You must be passionate about and skilled in creatively supporting and empowering others to develop their IPC skills with confidence.

Qualifications and/or Professional Registration
Essential criteria
- minimum 2 years experience at band 7 IPCN;
- Recognised Infection Prevention and Control Qualification
- Current clinical registration with minimum 5 years' experience post registration
- Driver`s license
Desirable criteria
- Masters Certificate or working towards
- Presentations to large groups/conferences
- Contribution to infection prevention and control at a regional or national level
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to lead by example and to motivate and empower others.
- Excellent communication skills including: Inter-personal skills; Writing and presentation skills/computer
- Teaching on specialist area to students, clinical & non-clinical staff
Experience
Essential criteria
- Wide range of knowledge in both primary and secondary care
- Policy writing and review
- Experience of working positively with and through multiagency networks
Desirable criteria
- Contribution to infection prevention and control at a regional or national level
- Presentations to large groups/conferences
- Resources / budgets
