Job overview

Apprentice Community Nursery Nurse - Healthy Child Programme [Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship]

We are currently looking for a qualified Level 2 Nursery Nurse to join our team as an apprentice Community Nursery Nurse within the Healthy Child Programme based in Chichester, working towards a Level 3 Early Years qualification.

The post is for a fixed term of 24 months, and during that time you will gain valuable work experience and a recognised Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification equivalent to two A Levels.

Main duties of the job

The role within the Healthy Child Programme involves working with a health visiting team to promote the health and development of children predominately 0-5 years old, including undertaking child developmental reviews, advising on common childhood matters such as infant feeding, sleep, routines and boundaries, language development, including early identification of children with additional needs.

Working for our organisation

The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9-5pm. As an apprentice, at least 20% of your contracted employment hours will be spent in 'off the job' training across your whole apprenticeship. 20% does not mean one day a week out of work: examples of 'off the job' training include teaching of theory and practical training. You and your manager will agree how to manage this prior to commencing an apprenticeship. There is a requirement to spend 350 hours over the 2 years in a Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust Nursery setting, this will require travel to Hove, Brighton or Crawley - travel expenses will be paid for this journey.

Salary is £17,417.40 per annum

The education provider is East Sussex College, please see their website for details of the learning. Please note there is no requirement to attend the college.
