We are seeking to recruit an exceptional Head of Learning for English and Maths to lead a high performing, efficient teaching, learning and assessment area, ensuring outstanding student success and outstanding levels of staff and customer satisfaction.

 

Main purpose and scope of the post:

  • To deliver an annual set of KPIs as agreed with the Vice Principal.
  • To promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment within the area, producing high standards of student achievement, progression and value added.
  • To undertake quality improvement activities to support the curriculum area needs and promote new ways of learning.
  • To lead the strategic growth of the curriculum area in all areas of provision to include funded and non funded courses.
  • To promote the strong, positive reputation of the curriculum area and the college, through relationships with external stakeholders, schools, employers and parents.
  • To work collaboratively and innovatively with staff to ensure a culture of self-assessment and continuous improvement.
  • You may be required to undertake such duties as may be reasonably required of you commensurate with this grade

 

You will require demonstrable record of promoting teaching, learning and assessment to a consistently high standard and have knowledge and understanding of curriculum delivery planning and administration within Further/ Higher Education.

You will be responsible for managing budgets, physical resources and supervising or managing a team.

You should hold a Certificate in Education or Post Graduate Certificate in Education (or equivalent); hold a Level 3 qualification relevant in English or maths and have a Level 2 Literacy, numeracy and ICT qualification.
