Your duties will include:

• Maintaining a safe working environment including maintaining key equipment and general housekeeping
• Carry out stock procedures; dealing with deliveries, placing stock into storage, stock rotation duties, ordering parts
• Carry out vehicle safety inspections and routine maintenance and complete documentation
• Make recommendations to customer based on inspections and ensure costs are accurate and ethical 
• Communicate using plain English to ensure the customer fully understand
• Carry out replacement/repair and balancing of tyres
• Carry out replacement of components including steering and suspension; braking systems; battery and charging systems; exhaust systems and air conditioning systems
• Carry out 4-wheen geometry operations
• Use of a range of specialist tools and equipment for electronic measuring and diagnostic equipment to support fault identification and repair
• Identify and procure correct parts to meet customer requirements
• Access vehicle technical data to inform inspections 
• Deal with and resolve customer complaints
• Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and colleagues
• Use specific company IT systems within the workplace including point-of-sale systems and hand-held devices

You will be working full time for the company and have 20% of your paid time in 'off the job' learning. You will attend college one day a week on day-release for the 2 year duration of the apprenticeship. You will learn all the skills knowledge and behaviours required of an Autocare Technician. You will build a portfolio of evidence of  your growing skills. Your programme will be completed by an End Point Assessment which comprises:

• A knowledge test
• A practical observation
• A professional review supported by your portfolio

You may also have English and/or maths included in your programme.
