Position Overview

The Sale Account Manager reports to the Sales Manager and is responsible for the retention and development of Ridgeview’s UK on-trade and independent retail channels. The role’s key focus is to develop strong relationships with existing accounts and identify areas we can support and develop our business with them. Other areas of responsibility include following up on new business opportunities within these channels in-line with Ridgeview’s overall sales and brand strategy and developing strong internal relationships with the marketing team.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with our existing UK trade clients both direct and via our distribution partners
  • Management of order process, dispatch, and invoicing for our direct UK trade accounts
  • Motivating and maintaining strong relationships with our distribution partners sales team to develop new commercial opportunities.
  • Researching and maintaining up to date knowledge regarding new business development opportunities, new business openings and market trends within the specified sales channels
  • Attending trade & consumer events, virtually or physically as a Ridgeview ambassador (including hosting Ridgeview dinners and masterclasses virtually or physically)
  • Trade event management (organising and hosting) and supporting consumer events when required.
  • Management and hosting of on-site hospitality for trade clients
  • Training our trade clients staff virtually, off premise and at Ridgeview.
  • Maintaining an industry-leading standard for trade communication, interaction and training
  • Entering wines into competitions, updating internal records, and communicating results to the marketing team for external and internal communication.
  • Recording samples for trade customers (on-trade, indies)

To be a successful candidate you will need :

  • +3 years experience in a commercial sales role, ideally premium brand consumer products
  • WSET Level 3 or equivalent knowledge
  • Experience in the operational aspects of the role in terms of logistics and order processing administration.
  • Understands the challenges facing the English wine industry at present
  • To be a confident, respectful communicator and networker; able to clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders in an engaging and collaborative way
  • To have a tangible and infectious passion for wine, together with enthusiasm for the English wine industry
  • To be a credible, friendly, people person who is well organised, charismatic and a natural ambassador
  • To be a team player who is flexible with availability dependant on the needs of the business.
  • To be self-motivated, able to work independently with own initiative and aspire to progress and achieve.
  • To be a Brand Ambassador, aligned with the Ridgeview values : have talent, passion, be nurturing, and striving for excellence in all that you do.
