Job overview

Are you an innovative, enthusiastic, organized and experienced Occupational Therapist with at least 18 months post registration experience and a strong interest in rehabilitation? Would you like to work in a friendly and supportive team environment in an intermediate care unit?

Main duties of the job

We are currently looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, to join our inpatient rehabilitation team at Crawley Hospital in West Sussex. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering holistic, client centered and evidence based care.

To be successful in the post you must demonstrate a keen interest in care of the older person, and be able to deliver quality patient rehabilitation and discharge planning of complex patients within an intermediate care unit using evidence-based practice. You must be able to prioritise and organise your caseload and be experienced in delegating to OT support staff. You will have access to B4 and B3 OT technical assistants to support you. You will be responsible for the day to day management of the caseload on a designated ward of 28 beds, but be flexible to support the other two wards as staffing needs arise. There are opportunities to increase your knowledge and skills in line with your personal development programme. You must possess excellent communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of individual patients, their relatives and staff.
