Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior Clinical nurse to join the Chichester CAMHS team. This is a permanent role 22.5 hours per week (0.6).

Main duties of the job

The role will work with young people who are experiencing moderate to severe mental health conditions offering assessment and interventions. We focus on Evidence based practice, robust care-planning and risk assessments and work closely with other key agencies such as Education and Social Care.

Our services build on our CYP-IAPT learning and 'deliver with and deliver well' and we have built the infrastructure to sustain this with our collaborative work with our service users who help shape our transformation with their lived experience. Our psychology and intern infrastructure support the meaningful use of the service wide outcome measures framework.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will work as part of an MDT including Psychologists, Nursing, Consultant Psychiatrists, Social workers and a Child Psychotherapist.

You will have good quality supervision and the role will require supervision of junior nurses.

Qualifications
Essential criteria

• Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
• Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
• Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area
• Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent

Knowledge/Experience
Essential criteria

• Extensive post qualifying experience in relevant service area
• Experience of supervising staff and students
• Able to manage a caseload of patients with complex mental health needs
• Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area
• Awareness of Trust policies and service specification
