Age UK West Sussex, Brighton & Hove, is an independent local charity working in the community to help older people, their families and their carers.

Our vision is to inspire and enable people in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove to Love Later Life. To do this, we provide an array of services and activities that meet the needs and interests of the communities we support, providing opportunities for people to get out, have fun, socialise and build friendships. It really is a great place to work if you really want to make a difference in people's lives.

This is an exciting role for someone who will lead, develop and manage services, building(s) and people for the benefit of older people in Arun.  Working in partnership with colleagues, key stakeholders, local organisations and communities to provide high quality, impactful services and activities for older people.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person who understands community development and true partnership working, who enjoys working as part of a team and is solution focused.  Part of the role in Arun will be to oversee the busy and successful Laburnum Centre – a vibrant bespoke building for older people in Bognor Regis.

In these unprecedented times, we need someone who can help us navigate the current challenges and who can also look wider for new ways of working, with new partnerships to help meet the needs of older people in Arun.  Whilst you will have a base at our building called the Laburnum Centre, you will be expected to work district-wide.

You will need to be a self-starter with excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills to drive forward our ambition for the locality. If you wish to make a significant, positive difference to older people’s lives and you’re ready for a new challenge, we look forward to hearing from you!

This post requires you to have a full driving licence and use a car.

At Age UK WSB&H, we value our people and as such our staff benefits include:

  • Flexible Working Option
  • Ongoing professional training and development
  • 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) pro-rata for part time staff

As an employer, we want to see the diversity of our communities reflected in our workforce. We believe that employing a rich mix of people from a range of different backgrounds with fresh ideas and different perspectives is key to enabling us to continually improve our services to the diverse communities we serve. We welcome and encourage applications from all members of the community.
