THE OPPORTUNITY

One Garden Brighton is a newly redeveloped tourist destination, a walled garden, rediscovered, reinvented and opened to the public for the first time in Spring 2021. One Garden Brighton features expertly designed gardens, One Garden Brighton Kitchen, a place to eat and drink, One Garden Brighton Market, a retail space complete with nursery, and One Garden Brighton Events offering small and large-scale community events. One Garden Brighton is a subsidiary of Plumpton College.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new organisation and team which has recently launched One Garden Brighton. You will play an important role in this new business, and be part of the success of the tourist destination. The ideal candidate will be a hardworking and confident team player with the ability to maintain high standards in relation to hygiene and cleanliness. 

THE ROLE

As Kitchen Porter you will play an integral role in the team supporting day to day running of the catering operations of the Kitchen (Cafe) within the Walled Garden and surrounding grounds. Your role will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen by operating the mechanical dishwasher, cleaning and manual handling tasks and ensuring that food safety measures are in place. Basic working hours are up to 40 hours per week for five days over a seven-day rota to include weekend and bank holiday working. We are open to flexible working negotiations.

You will be part of the dynamic and customer focused catering team, reporting to the Senior Chef.
