Digital SEO Marketing Apprentice is wanted by GAK in Brighton. You will work with SEMrush to improve our site content & work through technical SEO fixes once trained, while completing a Digital Marketing Apprenticeship. It's essential you have an interest in our brand & products to create the high level of content our customers have come to expect.

Vacancy description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Apprentice to join Europe’s leading music store. You will be assisting our fast-paced E-Commerce business and we are looking to recruit someone who is passionate about music and the products we sell.

A junior SEO role, uploading products to the website based on SEO best practices, writing original content for the website (product pages, blog pieces, brand and category overviews etc). With the opportunity to get involved in other digital marketing areas where possible to achieve your qualification).

Our promise to you is to provide practical on-the-job training and support throughout your time with us.  

Day to day you can expect to be:

  • Photo editing and cataloging
  • Uploading products to our website (including images, description, features/spec, videos)
  • Writing unique, original content about the products on the product pages to benefit SEO
  • Writing original content for Category and Brand overviews for umbrella landing pages to benefit SEO
  • Writing Blog pieces, short news articles, Q&A (based on information gathered through research online)
  • Performing Keyword and written Content research using various tools to inform SEO projects.

Requirements and prospects Desired skills

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud mainly Photoshop, Lightroom & Premiere
  • Photography, photo editing (Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom)

Desired qualifications

GCSE (or equivalent) Grade A-C/9-4 in maths and English.

Excellent digital literacy and novice understanding of digital and marketing principles.

92% of our employers offer their apprentice a full-time job upon completion of their training. This is up to you to make it happen by having a good attitude, being hungry to learn and become a highly valued member of the team. After successful completion of the apprenticeship, any candidates made permanent staff members. Having a willingness to learn and a passion for delivering excellent work are essential.

Training to be provided

You will undertake the Digital Marketer Level 3 apprenticeship. 

Apprentices will receive a mixture of on and off-the-job training in addition to monthly sessions with a Training Coach. Training will be provided at our Training Centre in Brighton and our Training Coaches will offer support and guidance in the workplace where apprentices will gain on-the job experience to build the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviours they need to begin their career in Digital Marketing.

​The Apprenticeship includes:

  • BCS Certificate in Marketing Principles
  • BCS Certificate in Principles of Coding
  • Google Analytics IQ

Portfolio:

Apprentices will be required to build a portfolio of evidence of workplace activities to demonstrate that they have achieved the required level of skills and knowledge for the qualification programme.

During the 15 months of training you will learn cutting edge theory and industry practice across three Knowledge Modules:

Marketing Principles – starting with the basics you will learn how to effectively target customers based on their wants and desires as well as how the sales and marketing funnels work. You will understand what makes customers buy or not buy and how marketing can influence this as well as how to effectively focus on target markets and manage customers to make them loyal to a business.

How the Web Works – delving into the techniques you will learn the Principles of Coding and how marketers create effective websites, designs and user interfaces. This includes how web design and development drive engagement and conversions.

Driving Return on Investment – using data to create detailed customer insight, you will learn how to use industry-leading platforms (including Google Analytics) to understand the online customer journey and improve your marketing based on customer usage of your website.

Functional Skills:

English and maths Level 2 - if GCSE Grade C or above, (level 4-9) has not already been achieved.
