About Us

Mamoosh is a family run business, established in 2015. Founder, Einat Chalmers, started her business in her home kitchen, baking and selling sourdough and pittas to friends and neighbours.

Fast forward 6 years, Mamoosh is now in a 2000sq feet industrial building, growing a pitta bread wholesale business, with a retail deli on site with a wider variety of bread and pastries, looking to become one of the leading pitta bread bakeries in the UK.

Vacancy description

The apprentice will learn:

• Mixing, cutting, weighing, shaping, proving, baking and packing
• Learning about the different types of flours
• Using several techniques, depending on the product and familiarise him / her self with the right utensils used for the job.
• learning to operate specialist machinery.
• Follow health and safety protocol:
• Learn to use the log book for Temperature checks, daily cleaning and weekly cleaning.
• Learn to work clean, tidy and efficiently and to work to a deadline.
• Checking stock levels and placing orders.

Things to consider

• We are located 5 min walk from Newhaven harbour train station, 10 min walk from the nearest bus station and we have onsite free parking.
• If the person needs to travel we will work the rota accordingly.

At least 20% of your contracted hours will be spent in training and development, either with us at college, via online learning or even in your workplace. The rest of your time will be spent applying your skills and knowledge in your workplace, doing the job you have been employed to do.

APPRENTICE BAKERS WILL LEARN

• Measuring ingredient quantities
• Making dough
• How to safely work machinery, such as power mixers, industrial ovens and production lines
• Managing supplies
• Keeping production areas clean
• How to come up with ideas for new products

QUALIFICATIONS AWARDED

• Apprenticeship Certificate
• Level 2 Certificate in Baking Industry Skills
• Level 1 maths and English (if applicable)
