Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the People Directorate team for a Recruitment Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be 100% focused on optimising the experience of our recruiting managers and their candidates, proactively managing the candidates' journey through the recruitment process, and utilising the Trust's recruitment management system to ensure this happens as smoothly and as quickly as possible, while delivering an excellent customer focused recruitment service.

You will be part of the wider People Directorate (HR Resourcing team), providing an efficient service, taking calls and resolving resourcing queries.

A day in the life of a Recruitment Coordinator with SCFT:
  • Advertising vacancies through our website, and advertising partners.
  • Communicating directly and indirectly with applicants
  • Organising interviews and sending out invites
  • Communicating efficiently with Managers
  • Attending Recruitment Fairs
  • Organising Recruitment Campaigns


Main duties of the job

To work in partnership with Trust managers to advise on procedures for recruiting staff, and support them in the correct use of e-recruitment systems.

Deal efficiently and effectively with staff throughout the Trust, and prospective and successful candidates. This will include verbal, written and electronic media.

Liaise with managers regarding shortlisting at close of vacancy ensuring all relevant paperwork is produced and processed, taking responsibility for screen appropriate manager if any section is incomplete.

Work as a member of a team in a supportive, co-operative manner; sharing information and liaising with others to provide support and cover to colleagues when required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Responsible for a dedicated area, the postholder is required to manage the end to end temporary and permanent recruitment process from advert to issuing of terms and conditions.

The postholder will maintain defined quality standards in their own work and encourage others to do so.

Assist new staff recruited to the recruitment team by demonstrating own duties and explaining procedures and standards.

To support the Trust with all centralised recruitment.

Person specification

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • CIPD CPP qualified or relevant equivalent experience
  • Understanding of relevant legislation including employment law and data protection, through training and experience


Experience
Essential criteria
  • Experience of producing documentation to a high standard
  • Experience of managing own workload and supporting others in a team environment to ensure that service standards are maintained


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working within a Human Resources and/or recruitment environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Supporting and advising managers on recruitment/HR procedures
  • Experience of utilising and maintaining recruitment administration processes both manual and electronic


Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrates an ability to be an effective team player
  • Able to communicate verbally both face to face and on the telephone in a clear and professional manner.
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • An understanding of the recruitment service from a customer's point of view - applicants, line managers HR Managers.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines to meeting competing demands
  • Ability to collate information and data accurately


Desirable criteria
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of managers
  • Ability to generate reports from ESR and NHS Jobs to monitor activity
