First Central are looking for a MI Analyst to join our Fraud Application Analytics team based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Your accuracy and attention to detail will be integral in driving the continued and material improvements in fraud detection.

If successful for our MI Analyst vacancy, you will provide the Counter Fraud Services Team with key information and data to support existing fraud controls, identify new fraudulent behaviours and report on the benefits delivered.

This is a permanent opportunity offering hybrid working of 1 day in the office and 4 days working from home.

Job responsibilities:

• Ability to produce timely and accurate information for management decision-making purposes.
• To develop and maintain the applications used by the company to detect fraudulent behaviour.
• To liaise with all departments on issues of reporting requirements, data analysis, business process and operational issues relating to Fraud.
• Achieve an innovation approach to fraud analysis which drives the business forward in detecting new fraud patterns.
• To ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times (including TCF)
• Any other reasonable duties as require

Experience & Knowledge:

• Solid experience of a statistical role within the personal lines insurance industry, preferable motor insurance
• Proven experience of data mining, transformation, synthesis and reporting
• Experience of working under pressure, dealing with multiple tasks or requests simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage difficult conversations
• Team player, working to create and achieve shared objectives.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent data and statistical analysis skills
• Advanced level use of MS Office applications
• Ideally competent in SAS and/or SQL
• Good numerical skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems
• Ability to present and visualise data to a high quality and adapt for wide range of audiences
• Good time management and organisation skills
