Job Summary
We are seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to work in our warehouse in Hove.
Your excellent communication skills and relevant experience will help raise vital funds for Martlets.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-respected local charity, and in this exciting role you will maximise efficiency of operations and therefore profits.
Duties include:
- Manage staff rotas and coordinate annual leave to ensure cover is present in all functions
- Ensure staff excellent service to customers and donors
- View domestic properties for the removal of goods with a compassionate and sensitive manner whilst appraising the items for saleable value
- Ensure the timely servicing, repairs, MOT and LOLER tests of vehicles and RDC equipment
- To recruit, induct, train, develop, celebrate and retain volunteers
- Conduct appraisals, performance management, regular one-to-ones, recruitment and induction tasks for new staff, and support the wellbeing of the warehouse team members
- Oversee waste systems and ensure Martlets is managing waste safely, economically and sustainably, including visits to local amenities, scrap depots and waste management companies
- Provide cover for van drivers during times of absence
Key requirements:
- Experience in supervision of people and operations
- Experience of providing outstanding customer care
- Full driving licence
- Able to communicate clearly in person and in writing with the public and staff/volunteers
- Able to prioritise and organise competing demands and work under pressure
- Awareness of health and safety regulations including driving for work, manual handling, fire safety and creating and reviewing risk assessments
- Willing to work variable hours, including evenings and weekends
