Location: The VHQ, Crawley hybrid with expectation 2-3 days per week in the office

Contract: Permanent

In a nutshell

We have an exciting newly created role in our Treasury Team, as a Credit Risk Manager, who will manage credit allocation across Virgin Atlantic (VAA) to ensure capital structure is optimised.

The role will being responsible for the debt structure on balance sheet, managing credit with banks, as well as supporting the management of exposure in relation to forward sales with card acquirors. Ensuring that VAA is aligned with internal credit policies & controls.

Day to day

• Report on evolving credit availability across the company, identify upcoming credit requirements and assess solutions to remedy.
• Supporting credit conversations with existing financial institutions to gain access to additional credit for hedging programme.
• Support upcoming financing activity (i.e. new aircraft financing, refinancing of existing debt within the capital structure).
• Provide financial reporting on the credit position of the company to the Financial Risk Committee.
• Analyse & assess trends in credit, identifying upcoming risks to credit limits & propose solutions to mitigate those risks.
• Attend weekly and monthly card acquiror exposure meetings to track exposure versus facility limits
• Ensure VAA teams are providing vital information to card acquirers on a timely basis and in line with contractual position


About you

Do you have a background in negotiating financial contracts?

In addition to the above we're looking for:

• A qualified accountant or AMCT/CFA qualified or equivalent, preferably with experience in a corporate treasury environment.
• Proven experience dealing with banks, lenders and managing external counterparties.
• Experienced with awareness of credit availability and types of credit access.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills confident in modelling and financial evaluation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills able to build and maintain internal/external relations, with the ability to influence across all levels.
• Thrive in an environment managing conflicting priorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
