As a Retail & Tourism Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to manage your own department and drive revenue through providing excellent customer service. A key requirement of the role is to manage all areas of Retail to deliver a strong, consistent ‘on brand’ experience. It is a chance to develop the Retail offering, working with the Tourism organisations to actively promote the onsite experiences.

As Retail Manager you will be in charge of:

• Line management and mentoring of your team: recruiting, training, motivating, supervising and appraising.

• Total management of the Retail budget: achieving sales targets for wine, experiences, tours & tastings and other merchandise.

• Overseeing the sourcing and procurement of merchandise for re-sale in line with the brand experience and Marketing team.

• Delivering an outstanding and consistent brand experience in the shop and tasting room.

• Implementing the marketing brand activations throughout the year in the shop and tasting room: preparing promotional materials and displays.

• Leading on tourism: development of a cohesive tourism strategy with the Head of Hospitality to increase footfall to the site.

• Ensuring the brand experience is being delivered effectively on all tours.

• Management of the tours, tastings and events calendar

• Reporting and maintaining statistical and financial reports

• Liaising with various departments to ensure all activations and opportunities are supported and communicated.

• Management and accountability for all elements of stock via EPOS system

Additional duties:

• Management of all financial functions of the department: setting and managing annual forecast/budgets and KPIs

• Anti-fraudulent transaction process accountability plus financial and data security accountability

• Management and accountability of Health & Safety Risk Assessments for Retail Areas, On site events

• Day-to-day management of cleaning services & maintenance of all retail customer facing areas

• Leading on the delivery of an exceptional customer service.

• Leading the department on sustainability for B-Corp in the business.

• Managing B-Corp customer experience with monitoring & continuous improvements key to the day-to-day running of the department.

Experience and knowledge required:

• Strong commercial acumen with a solid grasp of budgeting and margins as well as the ability to qualify opportunities quickly.

• Experience working in a retail environment where you have had to deliver a ‘on brand’ customer experience.

• Visual merchandise experience within a budget.

• Must be able to demonstrate focus on customer service in a previous role.

• Knowledge of selling a luxury brand experience and with selling techniques to support this.

• Demonstratable experience in managing, nurturing and developing a team.

• Experience in working with a marketing team and using insights to formulate sales strategies in retail.

• Experience of building, developing, and maintaining relationships with key venues/customers/clients and working to further build the reputation of the business and the brand across the industry.

Other

• A car driver is recommended for this role due to the location and requirement to attend external events

• Food Safety and First Aid at work qualifications are desirable

• A DBS check will be required as the role involves working with young people

• Comprehensive IT skills including Microsoft Office
