Job overview

We are recruiting Senior Psychological Therapists- Locality Lead to join our expanding IAPT service.

Health in Mind is an improving access to Psychological Therapies service (IAPT) that offers a full range of IAPT compliant therapies and job roles. As a service we support people presenting with mild to moderate anxiety disorders and depression. Please see our website for further information on https://www.healthinmind.org.uk/.

These are permanent, full-time posts (37.5 hours per week) though we will consider applications from those that wish to work flexibly and are open to discussions around remote and home working.

Health in Mind covers the whole of East Sussex (with the exception of Brighton and Hove) and the successful applicant will be assigned to a more specific geographical locality upon appointment. Preference will be discussed at interview.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit Senior Psychological Therapists who will have responsibility for the clinical leadership of CBT Provision within a locality within the Health in Mind service.

There are 3 main localities/areas that Health in Mind cover. West (Lewes and High Weald), Central (Eastbourne) & East (Hastings and Rother).

This is an exciting opportunity for a BABCP accredited CBT clinician who is looking to progress, develop their leadership skills and support the development of CBT within your area. With IAPT services expanding and the workforce growing this is a great opportunity to be part of that.

The role will require you to have a number of years of supervisory experience of both those in training and qualified CBT clinicians, as well as extensive experience of practicing as a CBT therapist within IAPT. The role involves close liaison with the other locality leads in your area, as well as operational colleagues.

Qualifactions
Essential criteria
  • Doctoral level qualification in a. Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent or extensive experience of delivering psychological therapies to an equivalent level.
  • Post Graduate Training in CBT to diploma, masters or doctorate level.
  • BABCP accredited or eligible for accreditation by BABCP within a one year period

Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of undertaking psychological therapy with patients with common mental health disorders
  • Experience of treating patients with a range of psychotherapy presentations
  • Experience of working in a range of mental health settings including Primary Care, outpatient, community
  • Application of CBT to complex mental health problems.
  • Psychological theories that relate to human lifespan.
  • Capacity to work with different professions and disciplines.
  • Ability to work with challenging behaviour in therapy
  • Knowledge of work / mental wellbeing link and integration with psychological therapy interventions. Ability to organise own caseload effectively, prioritising a complex range of tasks and responsibilities to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to offer consultation and supervision to trainees and colleagues and non professional groups
  • Experience of providing supervision.
  • To provide evidence of a commitment to continuing professional developments as recommended by the BABCP or appropriate professional body
  • Ability to provide specialist information to aid service development and policy decisions
  • To undertake such research as is appropriate to clinical practice and contribute to service audit and evaluation
  • Ability to work within professional guidelines and Trust policies.
