As part of Virgin Atlantic’s Delivery function, this exciting Project Manager opportunity is accountable for the successful delivery of projects to time, cost and quality in a global environment.

Accountable for projects with a high worth value of up to £5m you will define the deliverables and appropriate approach to meet the agreed business benefits, understand and support the required business change and you will ensure that the project produces the required deliverables to the agreed standard of quality and within the agreed constraints of cost, risk and time.

Day to day

Some of your key responsibilities as our Project Manager will be:

Estimating and planning the project

• Review and understand business cases, producing well-considered plans to outline project scopes, strategic objectives and detailed project activity.

Effective project delivery

• Deliver the project activity, ensuring performance and expectations are clear and the projects are delivered successfully, on time and on budget.

• Ensure support teams implement changes effectively

• Ensure projects are successfully transitioned into BAU support with appropriate artefacts being provided and change controls adhered to

Partner and supplier relationships

• Identify key partners from the beginning and build a stakeholder management plan

• Handle the expectations of the partners during the project

• Ensure the business area is prepared for the changes being delivered, business processes are implemented/adjusted accordingly and training is delivered to facilitate successful delivery

Project control and compliance

• Maintaining a ‘Risks and Issues’ log and identifying mitigating actions, ensuring their resolution

• Management and control of finances by measuring and tracking against the allocated budget, reconciling the spend versus budget

• Working with the Value Stream Lead to establish measures that would be effective in articulating and measuring the business benefits of the successful project delivery

• Work closely with the appropriate members of the Project Management Office (ePMO) to ensure the project is effectively tracked and monitored

About you

We're seeking a dynamic Project Manager that loves organisation and planning.

In addition to the above, we’re looking for our successful Project Manager to demonstrate the following:

• A formal qualification as a Project Manager e.g., PRINCE2, APMP or PMP

• Strong experience of end-to-end Project Management or equivalent

• Operated in Technical, Infrastructure or Application based projects.

• Skilled in achieving and delivering high-value worth Projects which have delivered

• Exceptional planning skills – the ability to plan for multiple features, across multiple components, with multiple skills as well as increases or decreases in team capacity

• Proficient in the management of third-party suppliers, including offshore services

• Experience working expertly at board level

• Standout colleague that can collaborate with a variety of professionals from different fields to deliver Projects sound

• Project finance control abilities, to tight budgets

• Confidence in working within a diverse and complex organisation
