Job Summary

Are you a dedicated online shopper? Do you enjoy the thrill of selling something unusual? Our E-Commerce team is the perfect place to put your skills to the test whilst supporting a fantastic local charity.

Our E-commerce team deal with the sale of our weird and wonderful donations as well as a mixture of antiques, collectibles, and clothing. We trade across several online marketplaces including eBay, Facebook, Depop and our own website. We also work with local auction houses and jewellers. We have a lovely new office and stock room to hold our thousands of live items and are now looking to expand our team. The role will cover all aspects of the stocks journey through the department, from the initial booking in, to the dispatch to customer.

We interviewed Eileen, one of our e-commerce volunteers. Find out why Eileen loves volunteering at Martlets here.

Where? Unit 6 Sussex House Business Park, 270 Old Shoreham Road, Hove, BN3 7DX

When? Shifts can be selected from: Monday 10-3, Tuesday 10-3, Wednesday 10-3 and Thursday 10-3

What you'll be doing:

You will be trained across a variety of different roles, enabling you to adjust your tasks to the daily needs of the department. One day you could be cleaning our incoming items ready for their photo shoot, the next creating a listing for an antique or packing a train set for its journey to its new owner.

What you’ll need:

You need to hold basic computer skills and confidence to learn new software. We will fully train you on all required software, so no previous knowledge is required. Our office is wheelchair accessible; we can also tailor our roles to fit different physical abilities.

Anything else I should know? You will be joining a friendly and supportive team of staff and volunteers who will welcome you to Martlets. We are able to pay travel expenses such as local bus fares and train tickets to help you access this volunteering role.

Sounds good, what do I do next? Apply now and a member of the team will be in contact to give you a tour, introduce you to some of our wonderful team and tell you more about the role.

If you need any reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process, please contact us on 01273 021548 or at recruitment@martlets.org.uk.

Company

Martlets is a charity that cares for people living through a terminal illness in and around Brighton and Hove.
We're much more than a hospice. Most of our patients are cared for in their own home.

Our team supports people to live their lives to the full, taking the time to give exceptional care. We're also here for their family and friends- bringing comfort, compassion and support when it matters most.

Thanks to the generosity of local people, our care is free for everyone who needs it. Although we're not part of the NHS, we work in close partnership with them.
