Job summary Working for the Security Manager who is professionally accountable and responsible for assisting with the strategic development and operational delivery of the full range of security services across the Trust, including, but not limited to, the management and provision of statutory security compliance in line with national guidance for Healthcare premises, planned and reactive security arrangements of assets, sites and buildings, ensuring efficient and reliable operations and training and advising staff across all levels of the Trust in security management awareness, in both clinical and non-clinical environments.

To provide expert tactical, professional, technical support and advice on all aspects of security management services, such as but not limited to access control systems, intruder systems, CCTV systems and physical guarding and patrol arrangements, via the Security Manager to inform the Deputy Director - Estates and Facilities Operational Services ensuring the Trust complies with NHS guidance and statutory legislation.

To assist the Security Manager as the appointed Trust champion for Estates & Facilities services and to actively promote the service profile within the Trust developing a culture of excellent customer service. This is a strategic role and will required travel between sites. Main duties of the job
  • To provide expert tactical/professional/technical advice on all security services, policies and standards
  • To support the Security Manager in their accountability for the delivery of high quality, timely and proactive services
  • To gather, establish, maintain, monitor and support in the development of key performance indicators to enable service levels and standards for all aspects of security, tailored to the requirements of the Trust service units
  • To support in the assurance that all statutory and mandatory maintenance is completed and the appropriate certifications are in place for security related contracts
  • To support the development and implementation of an operational risk assessment and management system ensuring high standards and systems of work.
  • To support the management of security teams and third-party contractors
  • To support the effective emergency and out of hours security services are in place and manage their delivery.
  • To support and maintain The Security Policy
  • To support colleagues on Emergency Preparedness and Planning matters.
  • To participate in a Trust wide Security Group
  • To support and advise colleagues on physical security matters and improvements
  • To support colleagues across the Trust on Security matters
  • To maintain a database of reported incidents of violence against trust property and staff and act as a SPOC
About us The successful candidate will be working as part of the Estates and Facilities team and have a wide geographical responsibility and support the Secure Manager where directed.
