Job summary

It's an exciting time for the Intermediate Care Units across Brighton, Haywards Heath, Lewes, Uckfield and Crowborough as support the implementation of the Community Beds Optimisation project.

We are looking for a Practice Development Nurse to join our Practice Development Team using their expertise to develop the teams and provide ongoing support to the inpatient staff across HWLH. If you're an ambitious, proactive, and experienced nurse, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will build on the success of the core skills training in SCFT and help to standardise its use, engaging with all staff, challenging and developing clinical staff, and working closely with the Operational Team Leads and Ward Managers. You will use your mentorship or teaching qualification and experience to support community and inpatient staff including those working in our Urgent Community Response Service.

The role includes:
  • Promoting the importance of good clinical practice across SCFT acting as an education and training resource for staff
  • Supporting colleagues in the development of clinical skills
  • Acting as a resource and link to support the education and training department in respect of training requirements for SCFT
  • Working with the practice educator in developing and implementing innovative educational support
  • Supporting the implementation of robust policies and guidelines which will support the adult nursing teams within SCFT

We are looking for candidates with extensive experience in and knowledge of community/inpatient nursing, who can demonstrate strong clinical, leadership and communication skills. If you are an innovative and flexible clinician, committed to evidence-based working and high-quality care provision, then we would love to hear from you.

You will need to able to drive with a full UK licence due to the geographic area covered by the team.
