Description -

• Part of the Dispatch department responsible for inspection, strip down and export packing of Linear Accelerators and associated product and equipment.
• Dispatch activities are carried out to documented work instructions and drawings.
• Dispatch activities may necessitate the use of specialist tools or equipment as specified within Standard Operating Procedures or work instructions.
• Device History Records are compiled and completed in Dispatch prior to submission to QC.
• Faulty components and non-conforming material are rejected using the NCR procedure.

Responsibilities -

• Inspect and strip down Systems Tested machines according to written procedures and other written or verbal instructions.
• Prepare equipment for dispatch and pack product for export.
• Ensure tooling is calibrated and documentation is correct at start.
• Full understanding of the Elekta Quality process, including identifying of faults, deviations to normative process and the correct reporting procedure, including the Q-Pulse system
• Will work to departmental work instructions and procedures, ensuring production timescales and quality standards are achieved.
• Improves and maintains good manufacturing practices and factory standards.
• When material or assembly quality problems are identified an NCR must be raised and the appropriate short term corrective action taken (ie. repair or reject), ensuring the NCR process is followed.
• Working as part of a departmental quality team, will contribute to maintaining and improving production methods and processes.
• Contributes to new designs, assembly and test methods where applicable.
• Dispatch staff are responsible for ensuring all equipment used, which requires calibration, is within the calibration period.
• Dispatch staff are responsible for ensuring that all substances used which have a shelf life are within the expiry date stated.
• Designated trainers are responsible for training or assisting in the training of other operators.
• Ability to work cross functionally throughout the manufacturing/operations processes when required.
• Complete tasks and documentation where covered by current training records.
• Complete non-conformance reports and sign off tasks where covered by current training records.

Relevant Knowledge, skills and competencies -

• Experience in a manufacturing environment assembling complex systems or commissioning complex systems.
• Appropriate City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in electro mechanical engineering.
• Diligent with good attention to detail with drive to complete tasks.
• Competence in mechanical handling and safe methods of working.
• Forklift and Crane qualification.
