We are at an exciting phase in our Digital journey, and we are looking for a standout Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) working with the Chief Digital Technology Officer and Chief Nurse to shape and deliver our digital transformation ambitions.

As Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO) you will be pivotal to the strategic, operational and clinical leadership required to advance our adoption and utilisation of digital solutions and innovations.

We are looking for someone with dynamic and well-developed leadership skills who can bring real value to improving clinical practice using digital technology. As an experienced nurse, the CNIO will be in a unique position to truly understand the value a particular technology can bring to the advancement of clinical practice and quality of care to both individuals and the community at large.

You will be passionate about the use of technology in clinical practice and an advocate for the digital approach by the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO) is a credible nurse leader who will be patient centred to provide strategic leadership for the implementation of the digital strategy through collaborative working and structured engagement with nursing and clinical staff.

This role provides a bridge between the clinical and digital strategies to ensure clinical delivery optimises the use of digital technology.

Operationally accountable to the Chief Digital Technology Officer (CDTO) to ensure the delivery and success of the Digital Strategy, but has a direct relationship and professional accountability to the Chief Nurse in supporting the delivery of the clinical strategy, and ensuring professional clinical leadership.

You will ensure optimisation of care delivery models and achieve the successful deployment and benefits realisation of a digital transformation approach across the trust to improve enhance patient outcomes.

You will be the lead specialist clinical expert for the Digital team, providing nursing and clinical advice, and contribute to ensuring the clinical safety of systems and processes in the design, implementation and use of technology solutions to deliver improvements in quality and patient safety.

You will promote digital innovation and champion the development of a clinically appropriate digital culture across the organisation to the benefit of patients.

Primarily based at the Trust's Head Office at Brighton General Hospital, we are very supportive of remote working, with the team working a mixture of home and office working. Occasional travel across Sussex is required when service support requires this, and you should have the ability to travel to and reach any of our sites.
