Job summary

The Community Neurological Team based in Worthing and covering the Coastal South East area is seeking to employ an experienced physiotherapist to join the team. You will be working with clients who have neurological conditions such as Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Stroke.

The role will be to assess new clients in the community setting for therapy input and support a caseload of existing clients in all aspects of their care. You will work alongside other physiotherapists within the team and be responsible for delegating work to rehabilitation technicians and also have a supervisory role for band 3/4 rehabilitation assistants within the team. You will work alongside the other therapy and nursing staff in planning a multi-disciplinary approach to care.

Full time or part time hours per week would be considered

Main duties of the job

To manage a caseload of patients with a variety of neurological conditions.

To formulate and deliver a generic and specialised treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment and reasoning skills.

To act as a clinical educator for undergraduate students within own professional area.

To be involved in the support and supervision of staff at Band 2 to 5 level.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team working alongside occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, specialist practitioners for MND, PD and MS as well as rehabilitation practitioners and therapy assistants.

You will also receive and deliver internal training and keep your own Personal Development plans up to date and assist the team with service development initiatives, including implementation of competency frameworks
