Interparcel are an online parcel delivery booking and comparison service. We have a wide selection of discounted UK, European and International parcel & package delivery services from the major worldwide carriers including UPS, TNT, FedEx, DPD, CitySprint, DX, Parcelforce, and Evri. They also offer specialised services including same day, urgent delivery, and pallet delivery and collection. We run bespoke software which means as a business or eCommerce business you can find the right price and handle all your parcel sending efficiently, in one place.

We pride ourselves with our customer service and are looking for a competent and proactive Business Development Manager who is able to work proactively, have excellent communication skills and able to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Nature and Scope:

This role ensures the Business has clarity in its focus to develop the under-tapped B2B market which currently represents approximately 50% of its customers with the following key responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for the re-targeting of all existing, lapsed, B2B customers
  • Develop and implement a strategy to drive assertive and focused growth both through the acquisition of new customers, and the development of existing ones
  • Influence and support B2B customers to integrate with Interparcel.com using existing tools (e.g., Shipping Manager, Branded Shipping, E-Commerce Platform Integrations)

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver growth in sales, integrations, and customers
  • Responsible for Customer Management – introduce satisfaction metrics, regular pro-active call-outs etc.
  • Once new accounts have ‘matured’, ensure they are seamlessly handed over to the VIP Account Management team
  • Lead the Company representation at appropriate Trade Fairs/Expos
  • Work with Pricing, Customer Services, Claims, Revenue Protection Teams to understand end-to-end customer issues and value creation opportunities
  • Understand the customer requirements to be able to offer a bespoke, but agile multi-courier solution backed by appropriate and relevant technology

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent Interpersonal skills – management of internal relationships as well as customer relationships
  • Self-driven, Resilience and Persistence
  • CRM Systems knowledge/experience
  • Ability to work on own initiative and produce concise Management Reporting Data for Board/SLT audience
  • Analytical approach – data driven (Excel, database etc.)

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a target driven, dynamic SME Sales environment

Desirable:

  • Some experience or understanding of the dynamics of a high volume/low margin business
